Did Finnish Rebels throw Weapons into This Lake in 1905? -magnet fishing Finland

Boom! Welcome to True Vikings. Today we are magnet fishing again in Beautiful Finland. We are on a lake. We’re on a rowing boat We went with a boat to get this boat and put it on a trailer Drove here to this lake. We are gonna magnet fish with these super magnets that Finndetector sent us. Today we are gonna find some awesome treasures from this lake. Let’s get going. I’ve been rowing here for about 15 minutes. Let’s check if we have something good yet Yes, we have we have at least grass a lot of grass But nothing on the magnet. Look what is flying behind you. Nothing yet You are probably wondering why why am I doing this, In a lake right here. For you to know that we have to go back in time. When Finland had to become a Grand Duchy in the Russian Empire in the 1809 Finland was allowed to keep its own laws language and religion but in the end of 19th century Nikolai II said that no, no Finland should be completely russian and started the Russification of Finland. The Finnish people of course didn’t like that at all so they started to rebel The finish rebels started to smuggle weapons. There was a ship called SS John Grafton that smuggled Swiss Vetterli rifles and some English officers revolvers to the coast of Finland close to Kokkola, and there it ran aground The Finnish people had to blow it up that the Russians wouldn’t get all the weapons. That was left. Of course They got some weapons from the ship before they had to blow it up and they started to hide the weapons Everywhere around these parts And the folklore says that this Lake is one place where they threw the weapons when the Russians Were closing in they had to dump them that the Russians wouldn’t find them. We are rowing around this big stone we believe this could have been a marker for them to dump weapons that they would find them if they would need when the Russians left and that we hope that we could find something here We will see Of course I’m not rowing, my father is rowing, so I don’t have to do anything. This is the big rock. We are Rowing around it’s full of some kind of Bird shit. Here we are dragging the magnet hoping for the best some kind of weapons something would be great right now Wohoo, our first catch today! It’s no weapon, but it’s a fishing lure. It’s a bit rusty It breaks, that part at least. Nice Fishing lure in the pocket. Can go fishing after this day. Some real fishing, not magnet fishing. awesome No weapons around this rock Nothing, only a lot of big bird shit. We found something In the Lake these are magnetic, but what these are no idea Some kind of iron lumps And a bottle and some rope if someone has any idea let me know Great find We haven’t found any weapons, but we found something strange here I’m gonna take it up It’s on a rock. There’s a rock down in the water some kind of sign and This one We’re gonna open it up There’s something inside I think it’s a Geocatche or or Geo kätkö as we call them in Finnish Let’s see what’s inside of this one This is interesting. There’s no boat At all to this lake, so I don’t know how many people have been here plastic bag There is a pen There’s a pen and paper With names and dates or At least some kind of names it says 24 is 24 7 2016 and Someone’s name is coffee cup We’re gonna write our name there too. And Of course, we’re gonna write true Vikings It was a bad pen and bad paper it’s a bit wet But here it is. We’re gonna put them back into the bag, close the mini grip and roll it and done But that’s a fun place for a geocache This is our last last hope for this place We will see if we have anything here At least a lot of grass But the magnet is empty We did not find any weapons today, but a fishing lure and some other random stuff but we have Some awesome places still where we have heard that they have thrown those weapons So we’re gonna go check them out So hit that subscribe button hit the bell so you will be updated of the next video to come So see you in the next video

  • What a beautiful lake!! Nice find on the geo cash location!! Somebody is going to crap themselves when they see that True Vikings have been there. 🚣

  • The line with the two metal weights and the bottle is called a jig. Or it could be part of what we in Texas call a trotline. Hooks on the line are baited, put in water with weights. Lines have hooks sitting at the best height from the bottom of water and the bottle floats about the line like a cork to let fisherman know he has something on the line. You set out your line and trot back when you feel like it….every few hours, twice a day, overnite….what ever you choose.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't already sent divers down to retrieve whatever may have been dripped in there 🤷😞
I'm a geocacher, I shared your video to my caching buddy brother so he could see you signing the paper; now were both trying to figure out which geocache you 😂 found

  • Hey my Viking Friends. 🤗👋🏻

Always a Problem to Hit the right Spot, without eyewhitness from the timeframe. And the Memories are often washed and no longer exactly.

Wish you always the best and always nice Findings,
    Ingo 🤗
