In this video I’m going to show you how
to make delicious Tempura Prawns. How to Make Crispy Tempura Shrimp
What you’re going to need to marinate tempura prawns is some fish sauce, some soya sauce,
some thick teriyaki sauce, some sesame oil, and some garlic, and of course some raw prawns.
Now what I’ve done here I’ve cleaned the prawn and left the tail piece on, and now
what I’m going to do is cut three little slits here, here, and here, three small slits,
on at one end, one in the middle, and one in the other end so that when you deep fry
it, it doesn’t curl up that will keep the prawn straight.
Marinating the Shrimp Now that I’ve cut all the prawns you add
them into a bowl and you add about two tablespoons of fish sauce, one teaspoon of soya sauce,
one teaspoon of thick teriyaki sauce, half to one teaspoon of sesame oil, three cloves
of minced garlic – you mix and allow to marinate for about, at least a minimum of
two hours. • 2-Tablespoons Fish Sauce
• 1- Teaspoon Soya Sauce • 1-Teaspoon Thick Teriyaki Sauce
• 1-Teaspoon Sesame Oil • 3-Cloves Crushed Garlic
• Marinate for at least 2-hours Making Tempura Batter
To make the Tempura mix, simply mix 100-grams of readymade tempura mix flour with 160-milliliter
of water, and there you go. Frying the Shrimp Tempura
• Marinated Shrimp • Tempura Batter
• Panko (bread crumbs) Now to fry the Tempura Prawns. What you do
is you pick it up by the tail, dip into the mix, into the Japanese bread crumbs, and then
into the deep fryer. You can do about two or three at the same time, don’t overload
it and you want them to become a nice golden brown.
A Little Later… This is about the color we’re looking for,
a nice golden yellowish brown, beautiful tempura prawns.
